People who are planning to visit the exhibition Luc Tuymans: Vision on Central Europe / Visie op Centraal-Europa (22/10/2010 until 23/01/2011) in Bruges, can download the Iphone application ‘Tuymans BC‘ for free on iTunes. This multimedia tour is available in Dutch, English and French and needs an internet connection to download its content. Brugge Centraal provides a free Wifi connection for each visitor at the exhibition’s location.

Exclusive concert of Bon Jovi on Bruges beach

On July 24 2011, the American rockband Bon Jovi will perform on the beach of (Zee)Bruges. It’s an exclusive concert for the whole Benelux-region and also France. The group of Jon Bon Jovi is still very popular and made hit songs like ‘You give love a bad name’, ‘Bed of roses’ and ‘it’s my life’. 30000 to 50000 people are expected for the concert.

Bruges filmset for the ‘Hot Potato’ movie

This week, Bruges was once again a filmset, this time for the movie ‘Hot Potato’. The ‘Hot Potato’ is an exciting new British period ‘caper movie’, in the spirit of ‘The Italian Job’ and ‘Two Way Stretch’ and is based on real events which took place at the end of the 1960’s in London’s East End… The director is Tim Lewiston and the 2 main actors are Ray Winstone (Beowulf, The Departed) and Colm Meany (Startrek). The production filmed mainly around ‘De Dijver’ and also in the bar of hotel ‘De Tuilerieën’. The release of ‘Hot Potato’ is planned at the end of 2011.

The hotel price comparison site trivago has put together a list of ten top-rated hotels, all of which have featured prominently in internationally successful movies. The travellers - who rated the hotels for this list - put the ‘In Bruges’ hotel Relais Bourgondisch Cruyce on the fifth place.

The shooting of the movie ‘In Bruges’ dates from 2008. The crew rented the whole hotel for 3 months to film the room where the characters of Colin Farell and Brendan Gleeson could stay low after a failed job as contract killers.

Big hotelproject started in Zeebruges

all seasons brugesThe first phase of a large hotelpoject in Seabruges (Zeebrugge, harbour of Bruges) has been started: the construction of a new All Seasons hotel. The hotel will have 58 rooms and will open in the Summer of 2012. The All Seasons hotel in Seabruges will focus on business people, meetings and off course tourists.

During the next 3 phases, the Harbour Garden Resort will be constructed. This resort will have 274 suites, a congresscentre for 300 people and also many welness facilities.

When all phases will be finished, this complex will be the biggest leisurecomplex on the Flemish coast and will put Seabruges on the map again.
