From the 6th of November till the 8th of December, Bruges will be the ‘Chocolate Capital’ of the world. Everywhere in Bruges you’ll find chocolate: in shops, in restaurant and even in wellness centres.

14 quality restaurants like ‘De Karmeliet’, ‘De Jonkman’ and ‘Danny Horseele’ will get creative with chocolate and will offer a special chocolatemenu. Other restaurants like ‘Den Dyver’, ‘De Mangerie’, ‘La tâche’ will offer chocalate workshops too.

In 5 wellness centres, you can get a chocolate-arrangement which contains treatments like chocolate massage, chocolate facials, chocolate scrub…

The main event during this month full of chocalate will be the ‘Choco-Laté-festival’ that runs from 11 to13 November in the Belfry.

This week, Google started taking panoramic pictures in the historic center of Bruges. Because Bruges has some narrow streets Google uses a bike, called the Street View Trike, to take pictures.

At the end of this year, everyone should be able to virtually visit Bruges via Google street view.

The visitors of the website Tripadvisor.com have chosen the Travelers’s choice awards for best hotels again. In the category ‘Luxury Hotels’, they elected Hotel Prinsenhof in Bruges as the 2nd best luxury hotel in the world. Hotel Prinsenhof was already in the top 100 list of ‘Luxury Hotels’ in 2006 and 2008. The ‘golden well’ in Prague was elected as the best hotel.

From 26 November 2010 to 16 January 2011, you can visit a new edition of the ice sculpture festival in Bruges. Just in front of the central railway station in Bruges, you can mak a lovely trip around the world and admire a selection of unesco world heritage carved in snow and ice. You can visit the ice sculpture festival from 10 o’clock in the morning till 7 o’clock in the evening. It’s a must see!

Bruges brewery ‘De halve maan’ (the half moon) keeps on scoring with their beers. At the 7th European Beer Star awards, they won 2 golden medals. One in the category ‘Belgian Style Ale’ with ‘Brugse Zot Blond’ and one in the category ‘Belgian Style Dubbel’ with ‘Brugse Zot Dubbel’.
